Our rising 8th grader - Claire Parker
As one of our rising 8th graders, Claire understands that being among the oldest students at St. Thomas More means being a role model for younger classmates. Looking back on her journey, she shares that she has grown in responsibility, faith, and self-confidence, qualities that have been nurtured through her experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
One of the ways Claire lives out her faith is through her service as an altar server. What began with excitement and anticipation has become a meaningful part of her spiritual journey. "It feels great to serve the Lord," she says. Through serving at Mass, Claire has become more connected and engaged in her faith, gaining a deeper understanding of the liturgy and God's presence in her life.
She recalls feeling especially close to God during her very first Mass as an altar server. "I felt like God was guiding me through the entire process," she shared. "It felt amazing to have grown and to have Him leading me."
At St. Thomas More, we believe Catholic education is about more than academics. Our students are not only growing in their faith but also developing the skills and character traits that will serve them throughout their lives. Through opportunities in the classroom, on the altar, on the stage, and in service to others, students learn leadership, communication, teamwork, and confidence.
This upcoming school year, Claire is excited to continue serving our school community through the much-anticipated 8th grade play, The Little Mermaid, where she will take on the role of Flounder. This fall won’t be Claire’s first time in the spotlight. She previously showcased her talents on stage the production of Shrek. Participation in the school musical helps students strengthen public speaking skills, collaborate with their peers, and build confidence while sharing their God-given talents with others.
We are proud of Claire and all our students who continue to grow as leaders and role models. Their strong foundation, rooted in faith, is preparing them to make a positive impact wherever God calls them next.
