9:00AM Mass Music Trail

Starting Sunday, July 19th, Saint Thomas More is introducing a temporary, multi-week trial at our 9:00 AM Sunday Mass. Our goal is simple: to explore new ways to invite every single person in the pews into full, active participation in the liturgy.

What is Changing?

For a few weeks, you will notice two main adjustments at the 9:00 AM Mass:

• Music Leadership: Our cantor and accompanist will lead the congregation from the choir loft.

• Screen Projection: We will utilize the projectors to display the lyrics for all songs, hymns, and Mass parts.

The "Why" Behind the Trial

These screens are not intended to be a distraction, but rather a tool for connection. We want to remove the physical barriers that keep people from singing along.

A Note for Families: We know that many parents with young children spend Mass constantly holding or rocking a little one, making it nearly impossible to hold open a traditional hymnal. By projecting the lyrics, we hope to allow parents, seniors, and anyone else who struggles with hymnals to keep their hands free and still join their voices with the community.

We know that any adjustment to worship takes a little time to get used to. Because this is a trial, your perspective is incredibly valuable to us.

After this practice has been in place for a few weeks, we will open up a parish-wide feedback form right here on this page. We want to hear how the experience felt for your family and whether you noticed an increase in congregational singing.
