The glue that keeps St. Thomas More School together
Affectionately known as the glue that keeps St. Thomas More School together, Christina Steffens has a remarkable gift for making the impossible look effortless. She is the one who anticipates your needs before you even realize there is one. She aligns schedules, assigns responsibilities, solves problems behind the scenes, and somehow carries the countless moving pieces that keep a school of hundreds of students, families, teachers, and staff running smoothly.
It's work that rarely comes with applause. Most people never see the phone calls, the spreadsheets the last-minute changes, or the constant juggling happening behind her office door. They simply experience the result: a school where people feel cared for, supported, and prepared.
That's Christina's gift. She has an incredible ability to make every person feel like they're her priority even, while balancing dozens of others. Teachers know they can count on her. Parents trust her. Students see a familiar smile. Staff members know that if something needs to get done, Christina has probably already thought three steps ahead.
As we begin another school year, there will be new faces walking our hallways, returning families reconnecting with friends, and countless moments that make St. Thomas More School feel like home. Much of what makes those moments possible happens because of someone working faithfully behind the scenes.
Her work is a beautiful reminder of something we often overlook: the Body of Christ is built not only by those who stand in front of others, but also by those who quietly serve with humility, consistency, and love. The strongest communities aren't held together by one grand gesture. They're held together by thousands of small acts of service that often go unnoticed.
Christina embodies that spirit every single day, when she lovingly cares for our St. Thomas More Community and for her three kids (Jeremy, Haley, and Anthony) and two dogs (Bear and Sadie).
As we kick off another year at St. Thomas More School, we pause to recognize the person who keeps the wheels turning, the details organized, the people connected, and the heart of our school beating strong.
Thank you, Christina, for being the glue that holds us together. Your work may often happen behind the scenes, but its impact is felt in every classroom, every family, and every student who walks through our doors. St. Thomas More is stronger because of you.
