2026-2027 1st Reconciliation and 1st Communion Information
Is your child ready to take the next beautiful steps in their faith journey? We are thrilled to welcome and accompany your family during this grace-filled sacramental year!
At St. Thomas More, we partner with parents to prepare children to encounter Jesus’ healing love in 1st Reconciliation (Confession) and His true presence in 1st Holy Communion.
Who Is This For?
This program is open to all parish children entering 2nd through 5th grade who have not yet received these Sacraments. This includes:
St. Thomas More School families
Home-Based Preparation families (for children not enrolled in Catholic school)
Whether your child is right on the traditional track in 2nd grade or a bit older in 3rd–5th grade, our community is ready to warmly welcome them!
What to Expect This Year
We believe that faith is caught, not just taught. Our program is designed to fit into your family's life while keeping the focus on the joy of the Sacraments:
Connected Community: Join us for our energetic Family Formation Thursdays! We provide dinner and childcare, giving your kids a space to build friendships while parents get a chance to relax, connect, and grow.
Flexible Home Guide: For families doing home preparation, we provide an easy-to-follow, beautiful curriculum that takes just 45–60 minutes a week, allowing you to guide your child at your own pace.
Memorable Retreats: Cherished parent/child retreats for both Reconciliation and Communion to pause and prepare your hearts together.
A Beautiful Celebration: A professional photographer is provided for the 1st Communion Mass so your family can fully unplug and be present in the pews while your child receives the Eucharist.
