Anointing of the Sick

anointThis sacrament is administered to bring spiritual and even physical strength during an illness, especially near the time of death. The Catechism says, “The anointing of the sick is not a sacrament for those only who are at the point of death. Hence, as soon as anyone of the faithful begins to be in danger of death from sickness or old age, the fitting time to receive this sacrament has certainly already arrived.” (CCC 1514)

Parishioners are encouraged to seek the sacrament at morning Eucharist before entering the hospital. The parish celebrates communal Anointing of the Sick periodically in conjunction with weekday or weekend Eucharistic Liturgies. For more information, please call the church office at the number below or click here to email “To whom it may concern.”
