Photo Contest

Winner of the 2012 Guatemala mission photo contest: Maryalice Williams

"For me much of St Thomas More's Guatemalan mission is about sharing our cultures. In this photo, the tall boys on the end are Guatemalan and they're wearing American t-shirts. Tony and his son in the middle are also Guatemalan but proudly wearing their American clothing. The four other boys/men are happy to be wearing their Guatemalan pullovers."

Runner up 2012: Marla Byrne

"As we were building a stove for a family, the little boys wanted so badly to help. We told them they could carry bricks for us. They continually tried to outdo one another and would giggle every time they would stack the bricks in their arms. You can see the stickers we gave them on their hands and forehead. I love this picture because it so depicts the love and work ethic that we witnessed in the Guatemalan people."
