Interchurch Marriage Enrichment

The Evangelization Ministry Team sponsors a Welcome Ministry.   Anne and Liam Cahill are the coordinators of this team and try to see that every new person who registers is welcomed with a home visit and a gift from the parish.   We also sponsor a monthly Sunday to concentrate on welcoming.   The 3rd Sunday of the month is set aside for this.   People are asked to wear a nametag at the 9 and 10:30 masses on this Sunday and greet the people around them by name.   Everyone is asked to come down for coffee and donuts after these masses and meet someone new.   To be a welcomer contact Ginger, 942-2492 x209 or gkroos@stmkc.com.

Moms N Kids

Moms N Kids is a group of mothers with children ranging in age from three weeks to four years. We gather on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 10:00 to 11:30 AM. The locations of our gatherings range from a play group in More Hall to outings at the zoo.

Our main focus is on the moms, so if you're looking for adult conversation or a way to meet other women in similar situations, then please drop in. We are an informal group - no reservations required. We'd be happy to put you on our mailing list! And remember..."when Mom's happy, everyone's happy!!!"

More Friends

More Friends is a seniors group that gathers for social and spiritual activities. Any member of the parish 55 years or older are invited to join. A meeting is held the first Saturday of each month immediately following the 8:15 AM Mass and rosary. It is a casual gathering over coffee and donuts to discuss any business we have and to inform members of our upcoming activities.

In addition to this meeting we plan social and spiritual activities each month. These have included and will include a trip to Boone and Pella, IA; a Mass and brunch in the park; a visit to the New Dinner Theatre; a pizza and banjo party; KC tour; Octoberfest; member appreciation party; a Mississippi River tour. The only fundraising project is a card party in August. Funds received from this are donated to charity. Dues are $5.00 per calendar year, however you may join at any time.

Re-Membering Church

This is an informal dialogue or forum for those Catholics returning to the Church who have many questions. They may just need to be updated or they may have been alienated from the Church and need to heal. This may consist of one meeting or several, whatever the individual needs or wants. Participants are encouraged to come to sessions with other returning Catholics to be a support and perhaps share similar stories. Single Women's Enrichment

The Single Women's Enrichment Group is composed primarily of middle-aged women with a goal of promoting spiritual growth and companionship. A variety of activities are held about six times per year, including retreats, guest speakers, a home Mass, pet blessing, dinner and service opportunities. Some of these activities are open to all parishioners, but the group serves as a vehicle to allow singles to meet one another and meet spiritual needs specific to the single life.

All activities are advertised in the bulletin as they come up, and new members are always welcome. Contact may be made through the church office or contact Mary at maryodon@aol.com for more information.

Small Christian Communities

As parishes grow larger and priests more scarce the strength of our church will depend on Small Christian Communities - groups of ten to twelve people who meet monthly or more often to study, pray, share, and to have fellowship. Some groups have continued from the Renew Program and some are geographically based. (The parish is divided into 44 areas.) Some groups are made up of people with a common interest or profession. Some may come together because of a common desire to help a charity or do a certain ministry or they may feel drawn to this after they have been meeting for a while. Fr. Bauman tries to visit each group annually and facilitate their growth.

For more information contact the church office, 942-2492 or joan@stmkc.com.
