Embracing Hope & Healing in Our Church

Tuesdays, January 31 and February 7, 7-8pm

Saint Thomas More Church will hold two sessions to address the conflicting emotions sparked by the sexual abuse crisis in our diocese as well as recent issues that resulted in conflict in our parish. Sister Esther Fangman, Ed.D. will speak about the emotional impact of sexual abuse and management of this crisis.

Although this will be the starting point, the goal is to also look at how other kinds of struggles can be dealt with in a way that leads to healing and reconciliation. The first session will focus on ways to name and identify emotions arising from sexual abuse of children as well as any kind of trauma. The second session will center on how to move toward healing and forgiveness.

This two week program will be held in More Hall. Please contact the Parish Office with your reservation. 816/942-2492 or click here to email Mary. Reservations are helpful, walk-ins are welcome.
